I was at a wedding down near Charlottesville VA. We took the motorcycles, got rained on, ate well, drank well, etc.. etc... Enough about that...
The people we stayed with live in an !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! It's a ton of buildings, and only two or three have been renovated into apartments/condos - the rest have been abandoned/not used for years. Some for decades. We snuck around the campus and took a few photos yesterday afternoon.
It was an asylum from 1828-1970, then a prison up until 2003.
This is probably the creepiest part. I wonder how many of these were due to complications during forced sterilization/lobotomies/shock treatment?

If those two roads in the bottom right of the last image connect, that facility would make a neat racetrack!

Still a really interesting place, even though you missed the meet! That first shot looks like a place I'd LOVE to conduct a photoshoot in :-D
